Attention Appraisal Management Companies
Beginning August 30, 2019, Montana will be joining other states participating in the Appraisal Management Company (AMC) national registry. The registry is maintained by the Appraisal Subcommittee of the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (ASC). This registry is required by federal rule and implements a new AMC registry fee formula. The state of Montana AMC renewal fee for 2023 is $0, the fee has been abated but the national registry fee is still payable and due during renewal. An appraisal management company shall, with each renewal of its registration, pay a fee for the AMC national registry of $25 multiplied by the number of appraisers performing an appraisal in a covered transaction for the AMC during the previous year. A year for this purpose is September 1 through August 31.
Renewal fees and late fees will apply after October 31, 2023. A year for this purpose is September 1 through August 31.
