Continuing Education Requirements

• Each active licensee is required to complete 16 hours of continuing education each renewal period.
• A minimum of 8 of the required 16 hours must cover NEC updates.
• Newly licensed graduates of approved apprenticeship programs are exempt from CE requirements for their first renewal.
• Licensees changing from journeyman or residential to a higher level of licensure are not exempt from CE requirements.
• Courses approved by reciprocal states are acceptable.
• Licensees are responsible for maintaining copies of their certificates of completion.
• A random audit of CE may be performed by the board at any time.
