Statutes

Statutes are laws passed by the legislature (lawmakers voted into the Montana House of Representatives and Senate). For a statute to change, the legislature must pass a bill during a legislative session, which occurs for 90 working days at the beginning of every odd-numbered year. The Montana Code Annotated is the written record of all Montana's statutes. A printed copy can be purchased from the Legislative Services Division, or find the online version here:
