During the 2025 Legislative Session, the Montana Legislature passed HB 276, impacting how the Department of Labor & Industry serves legal notices.
What’s Changing: All licensees and applicants are required to provide the department with their current mailing address and any change of address within 30 days. Individuals may consent to electronic service of legal notices by providing a current email address and updating within 30 days of any change.

All applications and renewals for Respiratory Care Practitioner Licensees are completed online, using the buttons at the top of this page. Applicants may use the Application Requirements and Checklist to track their process in completing their application.
You can access and print your license certificate by logging into the Department's "eBiz" website (the same one you can use to renew your license.) Once in the site, you can find your license in the "Health Care Licensing" tab. Then look for the link to print your license.
If you cannot access the "eBiz" website, send the board office a written request for another license along with a $5.00 fee.
Go to the "Board Information" tab on this website and then click the link for "Scheduled and Proposed Board Meetings."
You may also consider requesting to join the Board's interested parties list, which means you will be sent the link to the agenda in advance of each board meeting and will also recieve a notice whenever the Board proposes a rule change. To join the interested parties list, please send an email to dlibsdrcp@mt.gov and simply request "Please add me to your interested parties list."
The National Board for Respiratory Care is the national entity for testing and certification of respiratory
therapists. The American Association for Respiratory Care is the national professional organization for respiratory therapists and RCP's.
The board adopted rules in June of 2024 requiring 12 hours of continuing education (CE) to be completed annually prior to renewing a license. Submitting proof of continuing education is not required, but attested to, at the time of renewal. The board does not directly or individually approve CE, but lays out requirements for qualifying material within Administrative Rules of Montana 24.213.2130.
