Continuing Education

Licensees must obtain 8 hours of continuing education annually, starting after their first renewal, but may request an exemption due to hardship.

Licensees must select quality programs that focus on protecting the health, safety, and welfare of the public and contribute to their own professional knowledge and competence.

Acceptable activities accomplish at least one of the following:

  • directly relate to the licensee's scope of practice
  • review existing concepts and techniques
  • convey information beyond the basic professional education
  • update knowledge on the practice and advances in the profession
  • reinforce professional conduct or ethical obligations
