Acupuncturist

The following outlines general license information; detailed information can be found using the application (link to attached acu-app, 1st attachment).  You can apply for a Acupuncturist license online using the Quick Links to the right or by paper application to submit via mail.

  • Application Fee: $125.00
  •  Education Requirements: Graduate of a school of acupuncture that is approved by the national accreditation commission for schools and colleges of acupuncture and oriental medicine from a program consisting of at least 1,000 hours of entry-level training in recognized branches of acupuncture. See MCA 37-13-302.

  • Exam Requirements: Passage of the Foundations of Oriental Medicine, Acupuncture with Point Location, and Biomedicine examinations required for certification in acupuncture by the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, or its successor and passage of the examination in clean needle technique administered by the Council of Colleges for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine, or its successor.   • Renewal Period: Biennially on October 1. See ARM 24.101.413.

  •  Renewal Fee: $100. See ARM 24.111.401.

  • Continuing Education Requirements: 30 clock hours of accredited continuing acupuncture education during each two-year licensing period. See ARM 24.111.815.
