Scheduled and Proposed Meetings

  • The Board considers non-routine applications during scheduled meeting(s) following receipt of the application. First time applications for LS and LSI, by both comity and exam, are considered non-routine as a matter of process. Complete non-routine applications must be received four weeks prior to a board meeting to be included for consideration.

Once approved for an exam, applicants have one full year from the date of approval to complete NCEES exam requirements. Professional Land Surveyor applicants have two years to complete the state-specific Land Surveyor examination, but must pass the NCEES PS exam prior to sitting for the state-specific exam.

Failure to complete exam requirements in the time specified will result in the termination of an application.

  • The Board reviews non-routine Comity applications at each meeting.
Professional Land Surveyor by Comity applicants who are approved for licensure by the Board have two full years from the date of approval to complete the Montana state-specific LS exam. Failure to do so will result in the termination of an application.
  • Not all applications require Board review. But those that do require Board review must be complete, with all required materials received by the Board office at least 4 weeks in advance of the scheduled meeting.
