Montana Board of Medical Examiners

An Acupuncturist is a person licensed by the Board of Medical Examiners who diagnoses, treats, or corrects human conditions, ailments, diseases, injuries, or infirmities by means of mechanical, thermal, or electrical stimulation effected by the insertion of solid needles. Individuals who want to practice acupuncture in Montana must apply to the Montana Board of Medical Examiners for licensure.  The Board evaluates the applicant’s fitness to practice and assures the basic requirements are met. Applicants applying for an acupuncture license must be at least 18 years of age and meet the educational and testing requirements set by Montana law or in administrative rule.
